What would the addressing be in a network with multiple networks?
Q. For instance, say I had a Small Office Home Office (SOHO) and I have my modem connected to a switch that connects to two different routers. One router for my home network and one router for my office network. I want to prevent the workers in the office from accessing the home network. Say there are 3 computers connected to the home network and 4 computers connected to the business network. What would the addressing scheme look like?
Asked by Justin - Thu Apr 29 05:37:56 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The setup you describe won't work. You can only have one device connected to your modem, two routers won't work. Also, which network is the switch supposed to be on? The way you have it setup, it's not on the home network or the office network. The best way to do it would likely be like this: modem <-> office_router <-> home_router Connect office machines to the office router. Connect the home router's Internet/WAN port to one of the office router's LAN ports. Connect the modem to the office router's Internet/WAN port. Connect the switch to either router's LAN port depending on which network you want the switch to be on. This way, the office network will provide the home router with Internet access. Office machines won't be able to… [cont.]

What is the etiquette for addressing gift envelope before the marriage?
Q. We are invited to a wedding, the son of a past co-worker and who we barely know and the bride we have never met. What is the right way to addressing the gift envelope before the couple actually wed? Do we sign it Mr and Mrs. or to just the groom?
Asked by writingpink - Thu Sep 4 19:11:29 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well, by the time they get your gift they will be married...won't they? Or is this a party prior to the wedding. In any case...if you are bringing the card with you...just write their first names: Karen and Tom. You don't need to say, Mr. and Mrs. unless you really want to. Obviously, if you are mailing this, then address it more formally...Mr. and Mrs.

What should one say and what addressing to use to the immigration official?
Q. A middle age couple are going to tour by themselves to the USA, starting at LA. They intend not to book a hotel to stay in, but to rent a car at the airport and drive around and choose a motel or hotel facing the sea. In fact, their intention is to travel with no strings attached during 20 days through LA, San Francisco, San Diego, ending in Orlando, from where they travel back home. If it were you, what words would you use to explain that to the immigration official and what addressing to use when talking to them? I thank you very much for your help. It's very much important to me.
Asked by Mary Hellen - Mon Aug 6 08:30:02 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Firstly, you will need to book a hotel or a motel in advanced, even if it is only for one night. When entering the USA you will have to state the name and address of where you will be spending your first nights stay on your I-94 and also to the customs official at the airport. At the airport they may even ask you to provide proof of this in the form of a printed receipt of some kind. As for what you should say, tell them the truth. You have nothing to hide and there is nothing wrong or illegal about touring around the states. There are thousands of people who do this each and every year. Edit: In regards to Pexie's answer, I am a frequent traveler to the United States and it doesn't matter how you are traveling (Air or Sea) on route… [cont.]

A. Hoover was defeated by Roosevelt, there were no plans between them. You might see some similarities with a recent administration but Hoovers "plan" was to cut taxes to the rich, which he had already instituted to some extent and expected the economy to pull itself out. Roosevelt brought in confidence in the economy, created jobs, security and hope for the future in the nation. z

A. Strength - It allows people to not worry about starving Weakness - It allows people to not worry about starving, funnels money through a power structure, gives people a sense of entitlement, doesn't correct the original problem I believe that a public policy should be provided. However, it should be limited and kept as local to the problem as possible. There should be no federal program in regard to food insecurity.

A. Whether it's a scam or major violation of FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act), it's sketchy. First of all, it is illegal for a debt collector to identify themselves as a government official; secondly, it is illegal for them to leave anything more than their contact information and that it is regarding personal or existing business. Thirdly, it is illegal for them to threaten legal action if they don't have plans to sue you. It IS past the statute of limitations, but they have the right to resume collections on you until the debt is paid. This is all assuming there is a valid debt out there...this could possibly be phishing. Either way, I would save any messages/conversations and forward any info you have to the FTC (Federal Trade… [cont.]

How should I deal with a new condo builder that is not addressing my punch list of items that need repair?
Q. I have closed escrow on a condo with 2 major problems. 1) I have a large crack in my granite countertop in my kitchen. 2) I have a granite sink in my bathroom that is cracked near the faucet. It also tilts backwards toward the mirror, and therefore needs to be releveled. I believe the granite in both areas needs to be replaced due to the cracks. The builder is aware of these problems, but has not addressed them yet, and it is delaying my ability to move-in. In case you're wondering why I closed escrow knowing these defects existed, it is because there was a clause in my contract saying that I could not delay closing for a final walk through, and that these problems would be fixed by the builder. Unfortunately it is not working out… [cont.]
