If i'm adding a computer to a domain how would IP addressing and hostname work?
Q. Would they be manually assigned? If not how would they do done?

A. When you have a network the IP address is assigned automatically by the PDC or the primary domain controller. You may also manually configure the IP address range in the PDC and then assign individual IP's for individual computers but this is rarely the case. The best option is to leave DHCP on and set IP address allocation to "obtain automatically from server"
